Birthday plans for Thursday February 12. May have to do some of this on Valentine's Day cause the list is too long!
*Pie - to look at vegan footwear.
*Sephora - to smell perfumes.
*Blossoming Lotus - to eat raw vegan food.
*Yummy Tummy - for more raw vegan food.
*Free People - to try on pretty clothes in their equally pretty dressing rooms.
*Seaplane - cause it's next to Free People. Clothes are really expensive here but handmade and gorgeous to admire.
*Anthropologie - love it and I've got a gift card. Thanks Toni and Michael!
*Urban Outfitters - I love their new heart shaped mixing bowls.
*boot camp at the gym - cause I like to sweat and it's my birthday.
*Stella McCartney for Adidas - oh, yeah there's no where to buy it in Portland. blech.
*Lululemon - love this store too. Best pants and jackets to work out in even if their design turnover is way too fast for my taste.
*Yoga class - a nice way to start the day. If I don't go to a class I'll at least spend some time when I wake up doing sun salutations and more.
*Laurelhurst Park - for a walk if it's not too cold.
*Sock Dreams - duh!
*Xtabay - because it's fun to look.

Tell us about a lesson you had to learn the hard way.
i think i once heard someone say when someone shows you who they are believe them. lesson learned over and over again. details aren't even necessary. and it's an ongoing lesson, because i can't help but hope.
clothing: today i wore my emerge kindness heals orange top. yesterday i wore my new h&m dress. it was only $12.99, andy said, money well spent, he liked it a lot. sunday i wore my urban outfitters please don't eat me tee that has a pig on it. saturday i wore stuff i've worn before.
side note: i watched 'this american life' on showtime on sunday night, so i don't know when it originally aired, but the crew was on a pig farm. a factory, rather. the sound guy was so horrified by what he saw that at the program end the voice over announced he hadn't had meat since they filmed. the truth is powerful and can be life altering.
If you could pick a cartoon world to live in, which would it be? Why?
Submitted by Scio, Scio.
how about the cartoon sequence in the 1980 film, xanadu. this way i could become a fairy, a bird and a fish.
clothes: tops i've worn lately, my owl tank, fruit stripes top from anthropologie, it must be love tee by amy tangerine, pink angel tee from urban outfitters, greyish v-neck tee from old navy... i'm sure i'll think of more later.
Girl, boy, game you should have won, job you should have gotten…tell us about one that got away.

i always get everything i want. i've always thought that way and will continue to. if it has somehow slipped by i guess i didn't truly want it.
clothes! wednesday i wore a betsey johnson white eyelet jacket, a black cotton ruffle top, a butterfly skirt and green platform borns. thursday was a pajamas clean up the house day. while cleaning out my closet i realized i've worn a couple tees and they haven't been noted so i must list my vegetarians have more fun tee from urban outfitters and ny love love love tee from delia's.
What's the last compliment you gave and/or received?

this morning i lead boot camp with a workout that i programmed. the owner of the company beside me the entire hour. she's great and gives good feedback, but nevertheless, my boss. any way, at the end of the session a veteran camper said she loved my workout and that it was terrific! yeah for me, right in front of the boss!
clothing: yesterday sweats and play t-shirt. saturday, dark blue tee from urban outfitters, blue angel cords, orange and yellow hello kitty tarina tarantino necklace and orange fluevogs. last thursday hello kitty unicef tee, jeans and red shoes, and friday i'm drawing a blank, i think we stayed at home.
this clothing project is getting difficult. i took a few minutes this weekend to rearrange my closet, separating what i've worn and what i haven't. tricky. the weather is getting warmer and i don't want to wait until i wear all of my sweaters... any way it's challenging keeping organized but i'm hoping my vox blog will keep it somewhat under control.
eliot and andy went to great america yesterday. they rode the merry-go-round, rollercoaster, the log ride and more. e's very tired today and had a blast with daddy.
yesterday andy and eliot were in the kitchen when eliot came running out to tattle tale on daddy, he told me, "mommy, daddy's not listening to me." oh my goodness....what did my 2 1/2 year old just say? in fact, even worse, last week when eliot was throwing a fit for something he paused and said, "you don't love me." my mouth dropped open and i started laughing and tickling him and asked him over and over, "are you kidding me?" he tried not to smile and then would smile and then try not to again. i told him, "you have got to be kidding me, you know mommy loves you so much and more than anything!" luckily this ended the fit, but oh my he is surprising me more and more lately.
What are some charitable causes that you support or would like to support?
we give to environment california. there are so many worthy causes i'd love to find more races i could run with donation options. i feel so lucky to be able to help in any way.
yesterday i wore a splendid long sleeved creamy tissue tee with a creamy sweater corset over it and my purple angel cords. e and i went to a vivienne westwood exhibit in sf with some new friends!
when andy got home he and e went around the block for a little night walk. eliot watched the moon from the corner of his eye and told daddy, "the moon's following me."
tuesday i wore my blue cords with a stripey top from urban outfitters. very 80's looking with small heart shaped white plastic buttons on it.
eliot loves to climb and it is both cute and frightening. at the park he just goes for it, at times while chanting under his breath, "gonna trick mommy", cause he knows i get nervous.
my little baby is quickly becoming a little boy before my eyes. this morning the answer to my repeated question, "what would you like for breakfast?" was a dinosaur's roar. last night while andy was changing him into jammies i had to run and grab the camera in order to capture king crazy eliot standing on top of his changing table, half-dressed, yelling "crocodile punching!" over and over. his face all tough and silly and his body throwing pretend punches at daddy's face.
he also loves to open his arms wide and run while pretending he's an airplane. and we play chase at the park on the basketball courts because he likes running on the newly painted white lines. when i catch him his giggle is sweet and infectious.
but for the last three nights when i put him in his crib and sing his goodnight song he asks me if mommy can get in the crib too. you know there's a part of me that wants to and i totally fit and i've done it before. but i have to tell him it's his special bed and blah, blah, blah. and he says i love you mommy and hits his own little chest and says, "the love's in here." and i run back to tell andy stories of our day that make my heart swell and burst.
clothing for the past few days:sat:love green tank with an orangey viney grey tunic over it and jeans. sun:i heart new york rainbow tee. mon:grey splendid long sleeved tee layered under a blue ballet style top with a baby pink bird on it (bought this at doe last year on my birthday) and jeans and glittery pink flats. i changed into a grey tank (from urban outfitters) and black converse when e and i went to the park.
clothes!
yesterday i wore a fitted brown long sleeved v-neck tee from old navy, with a necklace i made, a white and fuscia scarf from urban outfitters, seven for all mankind jeans, and brown italian suede clogs.
today i'm wearing ag angel jeans, a white jcrew long sleeved tissue tee under a grey paul and joe for target wool sweater with a baby pink ballerina on it, and black camper sneaker mary jane heels.
for the last four days i've included something in my outfit that i've never worn before. that is why i'm doing this!
oh! and i told andy today there is one exception to my rule. if i need anything for boot camp i'm going ahead and buying it, because when it's 35 degrees outside i may need a puffy coat and some new gloves!
i can't believe i need a puffy coat. i can't believe i'm going to wear a puffy coat. and my butt needs a puffy coat, literally, i come home after camp and it takes my booty the longest to thaw out.
Where do you do your online shopping?
*zappos.com- shoes and handbags and recently added clothing. excellent customer service, i think the best on the web.
*amazon.com-you know, they're good but they are getting a bit tricky with over priced shipping.
*fredflare.com-fun, crafty and silly stuff.
*shopbop.com-modern yummy fashion.
*threadless.com-t-shirts! and lots of them!
*cutxpaste.com-also crafty and beautiful stuff. but you have to act quickly, the one of a kind stuff is the best and it goes quickly.
*pixelgirlshop.com-art, crafts, jewelry, paintings. worth checking out.
and i still love to browse urban outfitters and anthropologie on line, but there are better sales generally in your local stores.
