I bought myself a pair of Vibram Five Finger shoes while in Santa Barbara and I love them! The company recommends wearing them in slowly a little the first day, skipping the second and so forth. You can climb, swim, run, walk, do pilates, yoga and all in these weird little shoes. I got the ones that seemed the most feminine to me, with a little maryjane strap!
So far I love the way they feel on my toes but I'm still breaking them in in the back on my sensitive heal. Stay tuned! Two days until New York, London and Paris!

Last Saturday I spent the day at the Raw Spirit festival in the Santa Barbara mountains. I was so fortunate to meet back up with Matt Monarch and Angela Stokes as well as meet for the first time the lovely Cathy Silvers, Vanessa (aka chocolategirl), and gorgeous Philip McCluskey! I saw David Wolfe, Juliano and Ariel, Solla, and Steve from Raw Vegan Radio. Met up again with Enrique from Henry's raw vegan ice cream (he's so sweet, ha) and met Courtney Pool, Chele Eades, Kevin and Annmarie Gianni from The Renegade Health Show and Revell from Rawkin Radio! I hope I'm not forgetting anyone!
Cathy Silvers hosted David Wolfe and Matt Monarch in a durian eating contest and below are my crazy pictures atop a folding chair! I'm just under five feet tall and this is the best I could get!

And here's my loot! Some bought and some gifts!

I would definitley attend Raw Spirit again with hopes that they make it closer in to a major city, no camping, and perhaps like Courtney from Radical Radiance suggested, they should put it on at a resort. It was very expensive to get in and I know the vendors had to pay a lot of money too. Wondering where the money went? Love the vibe, people watching and of course the food!!
Lastly, here's a birdie from Disneyland just for funsies:

More to come!
I like to dip into a little astrology now and then. And from what I've read dreams are what we all can be having fun with for the next few nights. Pay attention to the little details!
The other night I dreamed I was in another world, a vampire village and I wasn't myself at all- it was like I was reading a book and I was getting images thrown at me. It was a long and detailed story including a love triangle, being chased, going through a house made of ground meat, swimming in a dark pool, surfacing to a babbling brook where I was warned if I exited the water I would not be able to return to my vampire/village world and more. All this before the astro-vibes are even due to begin! Hold on tight!
On June 9 our little boy turns 5! I fall more and more in love with him everyday. He amazes me and makes me laugh. Tomorrow we leave for a week in California for the Raw Spirit Festival, family fun in Ojai, pool party and Grammie at Gramps' and Disneyland! Cheers to you Eliot!

And after party alone time:

My lovely grazers and gazers I'm done writing about food and workouts for now. Busy time begins! In the next six weeks I'm:
*Waiting on a couple more crucial packages to arrive on my doorstep
*Learning how to use a new camera so I can take photos of all this beauty:
*Throwing a birthday party for my boy
*My landlord is filming a commercial in the front and backyard of our house (a birthday scene in the backyard which now I have to make sure my son's real party on Sunday is better then the fake kid's party on Wednesday!)
*Packing for California
*Leaving for California
*Going to Raw Spirit Festival
*Seeing a dear friend
*Disneyland
*Coming back to Portland for one week to get my house ready for my brother and his family and then getting ready for...
*Going to Connecticut (for my husband's family reunion)
*And New York
*Then London
*and Paris
*Returning to PDX for hugs from my bro and fam before they take off again for AZ
*And six weeks from tomorrow I'll be seeing Tori Amos in concert for like the 500th time, Love her.
This entire list is awesome and I feel so lucky but a little overwhelmed as I'm hoping Eliot's passport arrives today! Please please, one less thing to fret on! So many fun things! What's a girl to do?
xoxo

*Green smoothie- spinach, bananas, cherries, yacon syrup, msm, maca. bee pollen, a little coconut meat, lucuma, chia seeds, spirulina, cacao and nibs with water. I am now superhuman.
*More of the same and then snacked on my raw vegan strawberry macaroons.
***Walked up to Alberta and back- about one mile each way while pushing Eliot in the Bugaboo.
***Boot camp class at the gym and 5 minutes of sauna.
*Pure Cherry Cashew Bar
*Dinner- same as last night with an added cucumber on the salad and some additional green beans on the kelp noodles. Delish! Dessert- raw vanilla and cacao ice cream!
Day 18 of ACT! On most days I've been eating a high raw diet, body brushing, sweating through working out and/or the sauna, drinking green juice and green smoothies, journaling, meditating, yoga and avoiding gluten!
*E3 Live
*Green smoothie- bananas, blueberries, spinach, cacao, nibs, carob, msm, tocos, lucuma, two dates, chia seeds, and water.
On Kris Carr's sight today:
Q:"Of diet, meditation, spiritual practice, and exercise, which is the most important for healing?"
A:"It's the one you're not doing"
***31 minute treadmill- sprints/ inclines/ intervals.
*The rest of my green smoothie.
*Salad: mango, mache rosettes greens, Quite Cheesy Kale chip crumbs and squeezed lemon. This was so yummy.
*A little raw vegan chocolate ice cream for a snack.
*Dinner- kelp noodles with squeezed lemon, rawmesan, broccoli, tumeric and cayenne. With a big mache rosette side salad with a little Living Tree Community raw pesto and goji berries on top. Really fresh and lovely combination. Few bites of vanilla raw vegan ice cream and strawberry kombucha for dessert. Hey, can you make a raw vegan strawberry float with these ingrdients? hmmm... I just had one after the other. Something to try another day.
I also made Ani Phyo's raw vegan strawberry macaroons on Monday evening and they've been in the fridge and I've been occasionally grabbing one to snack on. They are made from strawberries, honey, agave, vanilla and dates. Really sweet and yummy.
*E3 Live
***A few yoga stretches
*Green smoothie- one head of kale, cacao, carob, lucuma, cherries, bananas, dates, chia, msm, maca, and water.
*More green smoothie later on snacked on a banana and a package of Bare Naked pears. Waited too long and didn't have any more water to drink and got a stomach ache! blech!
Eliot and I spent an hour at a new friends house today. Her name is Ann and she has a daughter named Eva who is four. Ann has a company called Circle that consists of her alone and her delightful clothing designs. Pants, skirts, bloomers and the most magnificent sweater coats that she makes from vintage pieces. Oh my they are beautiful with amazing buttons she gets fro around the world. The green ones I have my eye on are from Italy. My friend Julie has one of her coats in a wine hue and the buttons on hers are from France! So perfect! I was overwhelmed in the face of her sweater wall and had to let her know I'll call her soon. So much beauty.
*Rushed in the door and toasted up two slices of Food for Life bread- one with an open face pb&j and the other an open face Sunshine bbq veggie burger with spinach and mustard. Feeling better.
***Ran to the gym in the muggy evening to have Eben kick my butt. And then ran into Robert Cheeke. And ran home in the wind.
*Smoothie time- vega vanilla chai with carob, frozen mango and banana.
*Broccoli and peas dinner with a dressing of squeezed lemon, pink salt, tumeric, and nutritional yeast.
